Eh, that H2 looks a tad on the small side… is it an illusion? No! This is an excellent 1/8 scale engine displacement custom H2 based on the Z125, that also happens to be called h2 (note lower case “h”). Take a thorough look at the sheer detail and wonder of this craftsmanship. *Young Machine, March 2018 edition (date of sale 24th January)    

Bursting with playfulness and craftsmanship! 1.5 years from first idea to going on sale

Looking at this bike makes you doubt your own eyes, as you cannot help but feel surprised and smile! In the case that you did look at the h2 and reacted in such a way, then this would certainly meet with the manufacturer’s intentions. This is a complete H2 style bike using the Z125 as a base, and is also called “h2”. The level of quality is such that you cannot help but be amazed, and the name of the bike is very cool and effective.

It was “Pleasure” bike shop of Nisshin city in Aichi prefecture that produced this machine. In the past they have handled such projects as the KR1000-style KSR110. They pride themselves on “doing things that normal bike shops aren’t able to do”, like making designs for a Z125 sidecar. On this occasion, it was thanks to H2 owners who said “an H2 model would be interesting” that got the ball rolling for production. Since then much work has occurred, sketches have been drawn up, lots of testing has been done, and then actual panels have been fitted to the bike. The method of taking a photo and confirming how the sketch balanced up was repeated many times over a year and a half.

The level of manufacturing is overwhelming, and here is what was made clear from the outset; “this was not about making something that looked similar to an H2, but to make something so well finished that it looked unmistakably so”. Of course this meant not losing any of the H2 design, so the most amount of time was spent on considering size reductions. If you simply shrink the H2 exterior then it would create something that appears strange, so this meant it had to be reshaped on countless occasions. As a result you can see what a high level of finish has been achieved. Before now we had introduced the “Mokoku” bikes that trainee designers at Honda had produced in order to heighten their skills, and the result of this bike is to the same top standard. Moreover, unlike the Mokoku bikes that were only made as one-offs, it is actually possible to purchase the h2! Orders are being received by MSL in Nerima district, Tokyo, and you can also choose what paint colour you’d like.

(Pleasure h2   Price: approx $11,000 (excluding tax, plus approx $1700 when ordering a paint job) When you compare it next to the H2 you can appreciate its awesomeness all the more. While the fibreglass reinforced plastic exterior has been moulded and reproduced, its form doesn’t look strange at all even though it has gone from 1000 to 125 size. It is amazing how computers were not used in the design, and the form of the H2 was created by touch and feel, so this prototype was produced by hand.

It has more than 40 different moulds, and the H2 inherited curvaceousness and edges have been configured. Take note of how you can hardly see any of the bolts from the outside, all of which is to add to its beauty. To implement such a design like this a high level of technique is essential. Because fitting the panels is quite tricky, it is sold as a complete bike. The engine and frame are standard.

The single-eye headlight is substituted as a halogen bulb. The built-in indicators also light up properly. Such features like the fang-like spoiler and the lefthand air duct are fully equipped just like the H2. The aero-tail has been reproduced amazingly into its multiple segments. The tank is essentially a cover that has been placed on top of the standard tank. Besides this, the tail light, rear indicators and meter make the most of the standard fittings.

The actual exhaust port is positioned at the silencer section in the middle of the bike, and above this is what looks like a dual silencer, but is in-fact an accessory case! The storage space of a Z125 is poor, but you can fit in about three 500ml bottles into the h2. Isn’t this an utterly genius idea!?

The meter is a standard Z125 part, but the inside of the cockpit has been covered well with fairing. The Kawasaki river mark, Ninja H2 logo, and Supercharged emblem are all genuine parts.

Super deform custom landmark achievement

There has been a tradition of deforming desirable machines into a deformed SD (Super deform) custom since the 1970s. In the 1980s there were a series of legendary customs that appeared by using monkey bikes as a base. For example, the Honda Works Machine NS500R was reproduced into the Super Monkey (NMR), and the Moriwaki Racer Zero aluminium Z-frame was provided for the Moriwaki (Zero Z50M). There were also cases of makers selling their own genuine SD machines. like the Suzuki GAG and Yamaha YSR. In recent years the Harley Ultra was reproduced as a monkey bike, the Kijima Mon-Davi (Monkey-Davidson). So the h2 writes itself into a new page of this history.

(Kijima Mon-Davi   2011) The Kijima Mon-Davi had its roots based on the popular bikes of the 70s and 80s. The base was a teardrop tank monkey bike, produced to a high end finish.

There is no inferiority to that “amazing ride” feel of the H2! An amazing amount of passion has been poured into creating the aura of this “special machine”, and the sense of joy when riding is unchanged. Simply owning this bike alone will give you the same happy feeling. It keeps up the same level of looks, too.

(Impressions) Outward appearance and riding experience both stimulating! Level of completion higher than one can imagine.

What we have here is a Z125 Pro that has been turned into a separate handlebar Pleasure h2. When you opt for an extreme riding position, it is lightweight small capacity bikes in particular that can feel awkward, but as soon as you take off on this bike any such concerns vanish in an instant. The original Z125 handling is tricky, so this has been made to resemble the nimble, high turning ability of the former NSR50. This is thanks to separate handlebars that increase load over the front and makes it rather like a mini bike racer, which we felt is a better match this way.

The engine has been left as standard, but this already has a good pick-up response, closely resembling the good characteristics of the original H2. The exterior has had parts added, so the overall weight is bound to have risen, but there is no feel of any loss in power and there was nothing in particular to be dissatisfied about. The Pleasure h2 not only has the outward appearance, but the riding experience is exciting too. This simply is a rare and exclusive machine that conceals its charm with its superior design. The upper-part of the body leans over the front of the machine much more thanks to the separate handlebars. If you move back a bit then your bum fits snugly into the tail cowling. Attention is required for the mirrors as they easily become blocked by your arms. The rider’s height pictured here is 175cm, weight 62kg.
